My Private Page

This page is intended for people who know me a little bit better.... So in this page additional information about me will be availabe? Like what?? Well... I won't write my Personal Identification Number or PIN-code for my bank account in here...... That's too personal.... I won't tell you about my love life too..... :) I can write my phone number though... Oh no... it's a secret number.... Uhmm... Well... I can tell you that I have a mobile phone though... Just for emergencies....

So what private information can I put here? Well.... I have this car, a Nissan Sunny 1.4 LX, which was built in 1991. I bought it in june 1999. Before that I owned a Suzuki Alto built in 1985. This is a really small car, but it was intended for me to get me some driving experience. On july 1st 1997 I finally got my driving licence. Okay... I admit: I started my driving lessons when I already was 21. I was glad, that I got my driving licence, because it opened a world of possibilities. In august 1997 I bought my first car, the Suzuki Alto. I bought this car to be independend of other people, you know? I am the only one in my direct family with a car.... So... If something has to be done, you don't have to beg other people to help you.... You can do it your self. Two years later I decided, that it is time to move on and that's why I bought my second car: A Nissan Sunny. I love driving my car..... I am proud of my car, because I really saved my money to buy me this car and this car is really my property. I am still a student, so I don't have that much money.... Fortunately I have this job at Euronet. I work at the Helpdesk Department; trying to help customers on the phone with their problems.... This job makes it possible for me to have a car.

I bought this car with a Pioneer Compact Disc Exchanger and a Cassette Player.... I replaced the Cassette Player by a Mini Disc Player also made by Pioneer, because I think tapes are obsolete.... You should hear the sound... Great! Mini Disc's are handy because of the size.... I think CD's are better, but sometimes the Mini Discs are handy. I also make my own CD's to play in the car, but you cannot change the contents of a CD. You can rerecord MD's and sometimes that is handy..... When I am trying to make a CD that really is in good shape, I record the same contents to a Mini Disc, just to try it out.... After it has become the way I want it to be, I record the same contents to a Compact Disc. I have two CD recorders.... One Audio Recorder, connected to my Audio Set and a Computer CD Burner in my computer. Most of the times I use the Computer Burner to write computer data. I think the Audio Recorder makes CD's with a quality greater than the computer CD Writer does.....

A map of the greater part of Osdorp I live in Osdorp. Osdorp is part of Amsterdam. Formerly Osdorp was part of a community called Sloten. Osdorp was a really small village. In the late sixties Amsterdam decided to develop Osdorp to be a real city. By that time Amsterdam already had taken over Sloten. The old village Sloten nowadays is part of the new city of Osdorp.... Strange, huh?

Amsterdam built in the ninetees a neighbourhood called Nieuw Sloten, New Sloten that would be in English. It is in the area of the Old Sloten village.

Amsterdam is increasing it's surface.... In fact, Amsterdam does that all the time.... The city was and still is growing and it will expand in the future. The area in the Netherlands, where Amsterdam is located, is very crowded... Maybe overcrowded. Amsterdam is a big city and near Amsterdam is Schiphol Airport. So, you can imagine, that lots of company will settle down in that area. Amsterdam also has a a port. Business is booming for this area, especially for Amsterdam.

Ofcourse Osdorp also benefits from all of this. Amsterdam is part of the city of Amsterdam, but Osdorp also has a lot of independence..... Osdorp is not far from Schiphol, the Dutch international airport. I live in Osdorp. My house is somewhere near the red dot on the map of the greater part of Osdorp next to this text. If I want to reach the airport it's a 15 minutes drive with my car. In 25 minutes I can move from my living room to the arrival or departure hall in the Airport. In the same area as Osdorp, Sloten, Schiphol etcetera, the Haarlemmermeer, Badhoevedorp and Hoofddorp are located. Badhoevedorp is a little village, that is increasing it's surface, because many companies are settling down over there. It is almost next to Schiphol. Hoofddorp isn't a village anymore. It has become a real city because of that same reason.

Peter walking in Blanes, Spain España

In 1997 I went on a holiday to Spain.... The Costa Brava... I wanted to know what it looked like and I wanted to visit Barcelona. I went there with a friend and we spent a week over there. This picture of me was taken in a public garden in Blanes..... Spain is a beautiful country and the weather is nice.

Still I saw some things in Spain, which I disliked. People are visiting the country for only one purpose: sex.... why?? I met some girls who slept with boys during the holidays, while they were having a boyfriend sitting at home waiting for them..... How could one be so rude? And those girls got intimate with the guys, while they hardly knew him.... They only knew the guys for 1 or 2 days..... Okay.... whe have a four-letter word for these girls... But I can't imagine that they are that way.....

Another thing that bothered me is that so many dutch people are visiting Spain and they have their own small Holland over there. You can talk Dutch and everyone understands you, while you are in Spain. Imagine this: I went to a Chinese restaurant in Spain and I ordered my food in Dutch! You can buy Dutch fries in Dutch stores as 'Hans Patat', 'Broodje van Kootje' and others..... It is just like you are back in Holland. The only thing that doesn't fit in the pattern is the weather.... I mean: Holland is much colder.....

And another thing is that so many Dutch people are over there, that you meet the same people, living in your neighbourhood back in Amsterdam, in Spain. I met 2 neighbours living nextdoor to me in Spain during the short week I was there. I mean: You go on a holiday to leave everything behind and to get some rest and during your holiday you are confronted with everything just like at home... Is that a holiday?

Okay... My holiday in Spain was fun after all and I saw many things, but these things bothered me a little bit.....

Remember.... Amsterdam still rulez... Well, Paramaribo - Suriname, my native town and country also rule.... Of course!
